Outlook for Android Update: you will need Android 8.0 or above starting from May 23, 2022

Outlook for Android will no longer support Android 7.1 or below. Users will need to upgrade their Android operating system to continue to get support.

At the beginning of May 23, 2022, there will be an Outlook for Android update which will no longer support Android 7.1 or below. Users will need to upgrade their Android operating system to Android 8.0 to continue getting support for your Android outlook app.

If the people in your business do not use Android, you can safely disregard this message.

How will this affect your organisation?

If users in your organisation are using Outlook for Android on their phones and are running an older version of Android, they will no longer be able to update to newer versions of Outlook for Android. When Microsoft implements this change, they will not receive support from Microsoft or Northstar if your Outlook app breaks.
